"Close collaboration" between Sony and Microsoft leads to VAIO makeover
Late this afternoon, Sony announced it was extending its VAIO brand into the field of digital home entertainment - which Sony already dominates - with the introduction of what it is calling the VAIO XL1 Digital Living System. This in the wake of analysts' reports and comments recently that the VAIO brand has been marginalized in the PC space by Dell, HP, and even a resurgent Apple Macintosh.
mas a melhor parte deste sistema é:
The XL1 system (while presumably not living per sé) consists of a "high-end multimedia PC" based on a dual-core Intel Pentium D platform, coupled with a 200-disc automatic CD/DVD changer plus burner. In a statement, Sony said the automatic changer would enable mass sequential ripping or burning, either the audio content of up to 200 discs to the hard drive, or burning "a whole season of your favorite TV program" to DVD in one maneuver.
Pelo que li em outras páginas, com o Windows XP Media Center, permite meteres lá 200CDs e DVDs e mandar o PC fazer o RIP dos 200 para o disco do Media Center
