boas a todos, a minha experiencia em rede nunca passou para alem do crossover, e tenho 4 computadores, estou e pensar em comprar um hub da Match de 8 portas mas 10mbps, esta velocidade e muito baixa, para trocar fixeiros entre pc's?
eu nunca configurei um hub, podem me explicar? e so presiso por o nr do endereço por ex: 5.100.100.1 e o ultimo numero sempre diferente em todos os pc's, ou e presiso mais alguma coisa?

kaunto aos cabos os cabos ke eu uso pra fazer crossover servem? ou e presiso outros diferentes?

Um Hub ou switch de 10 Mb ou é antigo ou já nem compras isso é tudo 100 Mb ou (mais caro) 1 Gb ou 1 porto com 1Gb e ou outros com 100 Mb.

Hub mesmo acho que também nâo arranjas (a não ser que tenhas um antigo) é tudo switch's.

Ambos Hub e Switch não têm configuração nem IP. São apenas 'concentradores'.

Hubs vs switches

A hub, or repeater, is a fairly unsophisticated broadcast device. Any packet entering any port is broadcast out on every port and thus hubs do not manage any of the traffic that comes through their ports. Since every packet is constantly being sent out through every port, this results in packet collisions, which greatly impedes the smooth flow of traffic.

A switch isolates ports, meaning that every received packet is sent out only to the port on which the target may be found (assuming the proper port can be found; if it is not, then the switch will broadcast the packet to all ports except the port the request originated from). Since the switch intelligently sends packets only where they need to go the performance of the network can be greatly increased.

Assim se tens computadores a funcionar com cruzados, é só colocar o switch pelo meio e já está, o resto é igual

Hoje em dia a maior parte dos switch's detectam cabos cruzados mas convem veres as especificações.

Compras um Switch 10/100 por pouco mais de 20€... é barato suficiente .
Quanto á configuraçao dum desses baratos é só ligar cabos e ta feito.
