ñ consigo instalar o ubunto!!!

Ja tentei arrancar por cd e ele ñ entra :s

Sera que estou a fazer algo mal??

aproveitando este topico vou colocar a minha questão

tenho o mesmo problema, gostaria d instalar o ubuntu 6.10 para explora-lo e ao arrancar aparece-m uma mensagem d erro a dizer k ñ pode arrancar:

alguem: ja lhe pasou isso/sabe resolver?

Acho k isto já é a abusar mas também vou aproveitar o tópico.

Estou a pensar em arranjar o Ubuntu para meter num Pentium II, 200 Mhz, Placa gráfica TNT2 32 mb, 128 RAM, e disco de 80 GBs.

Basicamente o k estou aki a perguntar são os requisitos mínimos, e se é boa ideia meter-me nesta alhada.....

O Ubuntu tem que arrancar directamente, ou seja, inseres o CD, fazes reboot, e começas a instalação...

Here's a road map for the steps you will take during the installation process.

1. Back up any existing data or documents on the hard disk where you plan to install.
2. Gather information about your computer and any needed documentation, before starting the installation.
3. Create partition-able space for Ubuntu on your hard disk.
4. Locate and/or download the installer software and any specialized driver files your machine requires (except Ubuntu CD users).
5. Set up boot tapes/floppies/USB sticks, or place boot files (most Ubuntu CD users can boot from one of the CDs).
6. Boot the installation system.
7. Select installation language.
8. Activate the ethernet network connection, if available.
9. Create and mount the partitions on which Ubuntu will be installed.
10. Watch the automatic download/install/setup of the base system.
11. Install a boot loader which can start up Ubuntu and/or your existing system.
12. Load the newly installed system for the first time.

No entanto, se tiveres dúvidas, começa sempre por dar uma volta no Documentation for Ubuntu 6.10 (Edgy Eft)

Quando tentei instalar o Ubunto, pelo menos na minha placa gráfica não iniciou. Poderá também ser incompactibilidade com as placas gráficas da ATi.

Não. Eu uso Ubuntu no meu portátil e tem uma Radeon Mobility 9600.
Nunca tive problemas, e já uso Ubuntu deste o Warty Warthog...

tambem instalei nas maiores e respondendo a alguns:

UbuntU requer 258 de ram no minimo!
Quem n quiser ir a bios carregue em esc no arranque e depois selecione o cd
