Nvidia 9600 Reviews, Photos & Specs

Mensagempor VBTC » Sábado Dez 22, 2007 13:42

NVIDIA will debut Geforce 9 series on valentine’s day, 2008. According to source inside NVIDIA, the first product of Geforce 9 series will be GeForce 9600 GT, aka D9P.

9600GT’s GPU is a 65nm processing chip. We already seem this tech on G92/D8p and G98/D8M. G80 and G86 have been EOLed, and G84 will also be EOL when the valentine’s day comes.

Source also tells some specs of the nex-gen GPU D9P. The core clocks at 500MHz while memory at 2000MHz, GPU will have 96SP. It is a main-stream product and only have one SLI connector so it can not support 3-Way SLI.

And here is some unconfirmed info: GeForce 9600 GT may pin-to-pin to 8800GT,that means they will use the same PCB. Also the memory will be 256bit, GPU supports DX 10.1 and ShaderModel 4.1, and the card have the same HD playback ability as G98.

Different from NVIDIA’s “hi-end unveils first” strategy, this time GeForce 9600 GT will be the first product of 9series. We are sure the product’s proformance will lower than 8800GT, and its rival will be Radeon HD 3850 and the upcoming RV635.

Olha quem voltou :P

btw, houve um update:
We just confirm that GeForce 9600 GT uses P545 PCB design (not 8800GT’s P393 PCB design), and the memory will be 256bit 512MB, still don’t know support DX10.1 or not .

G94 will be built-64 SP, 256Bit interface

According to Taiwan's graphics card industry that NVIDIA tentatively scheduled for February 14, 2008 released a new generation of graphics cards in order products, the core code D9P or G94 GeForce 9600 family, which replace the original GeForce 8600 family. It is understood that the NVIDIA GeForce 9600 will be the first support 256 Bit memory interface in order graphics card products, forecast performance than rival Radeon HD 3850 than 20% -40%, it seems that Valentine's Day gift may be budget divide up by NVIDIA NVIDIA will become a girlfriend who's public enemy number one!?

A Taiwan graphics card industry pointed to the next generation in order NVIDIA graphics core, codenamed D9P or G94 GeForce 9600 family, Valentine's Day is tentatively scheduled for release next year, will adopt a 65-nm process by TSMC foundry, the core structure is basically G92's half have 64 Stream Processor, support Pure Video Gen 2 video processing engine, but the memory interface will be kept 256 Bit, standard memory capacity of 512 MB, this is the first NVIDIA products in order to support 256 Bit interface, the first model GeForce 9600GT, the official price tentatively set at $ 169 US dollars.

Single Slot, G94, PCB 6-8 Layers, Radiator design aspects, using Single Slot design, appearance similar GeForce 8800GT, as G92 and G94 in the foot-and incompatible, G94 will adopt new PCB design, 6-8 Layers and 3-phase power supply .
In addition, the G94's Pins compared G92 even larger number, but Nvidia did not disclose their use to the factory.

The G94 still not content HDMI and DisplayPort support, but the PCB design has been reserved by adding a Display - Port Transmitter chip position, manufacturers may need support DisplayPort shipments of GeForce 9600GT, and the original through DisplayPort conversion joints, and reached DisplayPort-to - DVI or HDMI DisplayPort-to-output graphics cards will become the next new model of the output.

It is worth noting that, NVIDIA launched GeForce 9600GT one selling point is to rescue the SLI technology needs over the doldrums, the SLI SLI chipset technology led the sales, expected GeForce 9600GT SLI technology will be than the existing GeForce 8800GTS 512 eager to excel, 30-40%, but the price is only GeForce 8800GTS than 10-20 dollars, driven SLI platform that sell like hot cakes in the past to return.

A parte que mais me agrada dessa imagem é a frase:
''Up to 90% performance increase over de GeForce 8600GTS GPU''

GeForce 9600GT still used Unified the Shader overhead construction, determined supported DX10, SM4.0, OpenGL 2.1, PureVideo HD, 128-bit HDR, technology and so on 16X AA, with other GeForce family and the not obvious difference, NVIDIA had no intention to follow up with match similar support DX10.1 as well as the SM4.1 technology, the official persisted thought DX10 and the DX10.1 specification difference was not big, said and not reveals the influence regarding the consumer, furthermore the DX10 game popularization still had period of time, we thought although at present uses the step indicator to carry out the DX10 game special effect, all was the quite strenuous work, but the match still could propose the attack regarding this.

GeForce when 9600GT core, Shader the arteries respectively are 650MHz, 1,625 MHz, embarks 256bit 512MB the GDDR3 memory body, the memory body frequency is 900MHz, the memory body frequency width (Memory Bandwidth) reaches 57.6 GB/sec, pastes the chart packing rate (Texture Fill Rate) approximately 20.8 billion/sec, the official suggestion lowest system power source demand is 400W, or + the 12V power output reaches 26A, as for whether will be similar to present GeForce 8800GT to promote the 256MB memory body edition in the future, will unite efforts the merchant according to the correlation to indicate, after the first batch male version will go on the market, will be supposed to be able to regard the market demand to promote the 1GB edition, even will be has the price competitive ability the 256MB edition.

Moreover, NVIDIA last year GeForce 8600GTS, GT which promoted in the center step indicator market, because the hardware specification excessively castrated, including remembered the body lay between the surface all only to support 128-bit, caused to carry out the DX9 potency unexpectedly not to surmount the previous generation GeForce 7 series same level indicators, the association in the DX10 game potency also barely satisfactory, the tremendous influence is playing the family to promote the wish, we also many times gave the warning in the correlation report, now looked by the GeForce 9600GT hardware specification, NVIDIA finally accepted good advice readily.

NVIDIA GeForce 9600GT sneak peek and early bench

Imagem

First GeForce 9 series card to hit the market in February is NVIDIA’s GeForce 9600GT. Do not be fooled by the 8800GT-like cooler! It is only to replace 8600GT, not 8800GT.

The card’s frequency is 650/1625/1800MHz(core/shader/mem), using PCB design P545, GPU codename is “G94-300″, made by TSMC’s 65nm process technology. Like 8800GT, the black cooler also made by CoolerMaster.

Imagem

The internal driver for 9600GT is out today(deep inside the industry), we will get it later, so we have to mod the Device ID into 169.25WHQL’s NV_disp.inf. And the driver fully support the card. After the mod we managed to run a comparison test between G94 and two G92:

Testbed:

CPU: Intel Core 2 QX9650 Retail (333MzX9)
Mobo: Asustek Maximus Formula ROG X38 DDR2
Memory: Geil 1GBX2 DDR2-800 4-4-4-10-1T
HDD: WD 3200YS 7200RPM
OS: Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit SP1 Beta V.668
Driver: 169.25WHQL (Moded with 8800GS and 9600GT info)

Imagem

The card’s performance is similar to 8800GS. But 8800GS is only a temporarily NVIDIA weapon fighting with ATI’s HD3850. 9600GT is a long term product for replacing the 8600GT family. So how did you think about the incoming war between HD 3850\HD 3670 and 9600GT?
