Radeon HD 4000 series specifications surfaces

The ATI Radeon HD 4000 series is slated for late Q2. Information about the high-end RV770 has been leaking onto the web, from here and there, but the exact specifications has remained in the shadows. German hardware site Hartware.net has gotten their hands on what seems to be pretty authentic information. As far as we can tell, it looks believable and matches the rumors going around.

São mesmo rumores porque ainda so existem samples de GDDR5 e apenas de 2 fabricantes (Samsung e Quimonda). Com a GDDR4 a ficar cada vez mais barata apesar de não ser uma vantagem clara à GDDR3 e esta continuar a baixar de preço não estou a ver a AMD a saltar já para a GDDR5 porque senão vai acontecer a mesma coisa que aconteceu com a R600 onde o GPU não estava a 100% para tirar uso da GDDR4 e o que sucedeu foi atrasos atrás de atrasos e no final haviam versões com GDDR3 mais rápidas que versões com GDDR4.

Radeon HD 4000 Series in June?

If German site called HARTWARE.NET is to be believed, AMD’s next generation of Radeon graphics cards could be released as early as June this year. According to the site, an AMD roadmap it has managed to acquire shows seven upcoming cards, the Radeon HD 4450, Radeon HD 4470, Radeon HD 4650, Radeon HD 4670, Radeon HD 4850, Radeon HD 4870, and Radeon HD 4870 X2. The 4400 cards will apparently feature 40 stream processors, the 4600 cards will have 240 and the 4800 cards will have 480 (with the X2 featuring 960 overall, 480 on each core). There is no firm indication of clock speeds, but the 4600 and 4800 cards are expected to run somewhere between 800MHz and 1050MHz depending on the model, ranging from 128MB of DDR2 to 1GB of GDDR5 memory. However, there are no details of which cards will be released when, just that the initial launch could be sometime in June. Remember that this information might not be completely reliable and shouldn’t be interpreted as firm facts.

AMD Announces HD3800 Price Drops

AMD called us to announce new prices for the Radeon HD 3850 512 MB and HD 3870. In the USA tonight (and everywhere else soon after), e-tailer prices for the HD 3870 should drop from $245 to $189; The price of the HD 3850 512 MB should drop from $199 to $169.
Could this mean that something new is coming in the graphics world? Stay tuned.
